Chittorgarh IEC / BCC

Context

Swachh Bharat Mission is delivered at the level of the Nagar Parishad and the Nagar Palika. Sanitation targets are set nationally; they are met, or missed, by households on a particular street in a particular ward. IEC is the instrument that connects the two.

Role

Worked on Information, Education and Communication (IEC/BCC) activities for Nagar Parishad Chittorgarh — awareness campaigns and citizen outreach on sanitation and public participation. Handled the council’s social media communication, and produced the creative set: single-use plastic explainers, cloth-bag drives, anti-littering instruction, food-stall hygiene, sanitation worker capacity building and school outreach.

Process

The work runs on a fixed civic system — the Swachh Survekshan lockup, the ULB mark, a Hindi headline set large enough to read from a distance — and varies only the argument underneath it. Photographs of the actual drive sit next to the illustrated instruction, so the message is never abstract.
